Wilderfolk is a camp, a season of classes, and a fire that everybody ends up around. Come out for the day, bring your people for a weekend, or stay the night and do both.
We Belong Outside.
We run a camp on the coast and a season of guided days out from it, and the whole thing is built so people can learn a place properly rather than drive past it. Local folks who know this country teach most of what we do, and nobody expects you to arrive knowing anything. It’s early days and we’re building as we go, so if there’s something you’d like to learn out here, tell us and it’ll turn up on the list.

Camp Catch n Cook is back.
Three days of foraging, fishing, and campfire cooking with Kevin Smith of Catch N Cook California and Taku Kondo of Outdoor Chef Life. The first one sold out with a waitlist behind it. You catch it, you clean it, you cook it over the fire, and you eat better than you do at home.

How we teach
Everything happens outdoors, with your hands in it.
Everything we run is led by people who’ve spent years on this ground, and you’ll be doing it rather than watching it. Ankle deep in a tide pool, sorting mushrooms on a tarp, or rolling sushi on a rock with what you picked up ten minutes earlier.

Twelve acres of coastal forest on the Mendocino coast, spread out enough to buy you real privacy and real quiet. There’s a communal fire in the meadow, a wood-fired sauna, and the water about five minutes’ walk away.
