The Wilderfolk Community Values

Wilderfolk is an intentional community of people, a tribe, who share a love of the outdoors and who love learning about and sharing knowledge about this beautiful earth and all of its amazing gifts. We care most about:

Respect for the earth
Respect for each other
Learning and sharing knowledge

This is a community built on respect and inclusion. That means that we not only tolerate, but we celebrate diversity in all of its forms. We welcome people of every race, gender, age, background, faith and belief. What we don’t make room for is the belief that any of those people are lesser, because that isn’t respect for each other, and respect is what this place runs on. This is a safe place for everyone across the human spectrum, and with a special place in our hearts for families and for children.

Our goal is to build our community through respectful exchange of ideas and knowledge. As such, discussions of politics and religion should be held only with the greatest respect for each other and with the goal of promoting understanding and compassion. We will share this earth for the rest of our lives, and we would do well to always remember it.

Please read each one and tick it. They’re the reason the place works.

I’ll treat every other guest with warmth and respect, whoever they are and however they show up. I’ll keep the quiet. Small generators in daylight only, no loud music, and quiet time after 10pm. I’ll pack out what I pack in, and leave the forest the way I found it. Every adult in my party will sign the participant agreement, every visit. I understand that anyone who makes another guest feel unwelcome or unsafe will be asked to leave, with no refund.

Elder $50 a month, or $500 a year

1,500 chits a month, yours to keep or spend. That’s $75 of camp every month, and they build up.
A bonus month every year you stay, and on day one if you pay for the year.
Your price, held. A weeknight costs you what it cost the day you joined, for as long as you’re a member.
Camp Catch n Cook and the events held for members, and first shot at booking everything else.
Book six months ahead, three more than anybody else.
Come for the day with a guest, no booking needed.
Earn 1.5 chits a dollar, and a Wilderfolk shirt with your third month.

Chief $150 a month, or $1,500 a year

4,500 chits a month. That’s $225 of camp: a night at Lobster for four and a night for two.
Everything an Elder gets, and a bonus month every year.
First refusal on what sells out, like the 4×4 ATV day at Usal.
The Chiefs’ weekend, and the Fourth of July weekend at camp is Chiefs only.
Come for the day with five friends.
Your name carved on the Signpost. Chiefs only.
